New Years Resolutions!

For the first year in my life, I've actually made a list of things I want to accomplish this year! I'm excited, and I hope to be posting about them as I do them this year. Here is my list:

1. Learn Macrame
2. Learn tatting
3. Do an embroidery project.
4. Learn crewel embroidery.
5. Make a doll.
6. Do a decoupage.
7. Learn to crochet a doily.
8. Do a counted cross-stitch project.
9. Learn candlemaking?
10. Learn soapmaking.
11. Do a latchhook project.
12. Try an oil painting project.
13. Press flowers.
14. Learn to make bread.
15. Learn canning and drying food.
16. Plant a garden.
17. Learn sign language?

The reason I want to learn all these things is because I want to prepare for a home and learn skills that will help me run a home in an inexpensive way :)

"13She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. 14She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. 15She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. 16She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. 17She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. 18She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. 19She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. 20She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. 21She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. 22She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. 23Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.24She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.25Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come." - Proverbs 31:13-24

Great ideas! I can teach you to can and dry food :).
You actually used to know how to do some of that but it's been so long since we have had a garden, I can understand why you forgot! I have half-forgotten myself!

Lydia,
I was bored so I was going from blog to blog and came across yours. : ) I commend you for takng a strong stand for the Lord being a teenage young lady in this day and time. : )
I am also a born again believer and a mother of 4. Ages 20, 17, 9, and 7. The oldest is my only boy! : ) I KNOW how hard it is to live a seperated modest life for a young lady! Kuddos to you! : )
I really wanted to write because I saw you said you wanted to me a mommy of 18 children. I heard about a missionary through a prayer chain because they thought her hubby had cancer. She just had her 12th little bundle of joy 9 months ago. Their site is www.lockwoodfamilytomexico.com. I think you will get a "real" look at her life. The joys AND the sorrows. Mrs. Lockwood is very transparent in her walk with the Lord, which only helps those of us who feel like we are the only ones who struggle and no one else does! : ) Make sure you read her older post as well. When she was on bed rest and then baby Samuel came at 32 weeks and they thought they would lose him. SUCH a testimony!
Your love for the Lord is refreshing! I think the Lord has mighty plans for your life. : ) I will have to add you to my friends blog list so I can see how you blossom for the Lord! : ) And to read all your witty postings! : )
